About Vacuum Box Testing

Reliable Weld Leak Detection

Vacuum Box Testing is a practical method used to identify leaks in welded joints and check their leak-tightness.

During the inspection, a soap solution is applied to the weld area. A vacuum box is then positioned over the inspection area and a vacuum is created. If a leak is present, bubbles appear through the soap solution, providing a visible indication of the leak location.

This method is particularly useful where welded joints need to be checked for leakage without carrying out destructive testing.

How Vacuum Box Testing Works

01 — Apply Soap Solution
A soap solution is applied over the weld being inspected.
02 — Position Vacuum Box
The vacuum box is placed over the inspection area.
03 — Create Vacuum
A vacuum is generated inside the box.
04 — Identify Leakage
Bubbles appearing through the soap solution indicate the presence of a leak.

Applications

Key Advantages

Why Choose Vacuum Box Testing?

Simple Testing Method
A straightforward method for checking weld leak-tightness.

Effective Leak Detection
Provides a visible indication when leakage is present.

Suitable for Weld Inspection
Useful for checking welded areas in tanks and vessels.

Limitations

Understanding the Method

Leak Detection Only
Vacuum Box Testing detects leaks but does not identify internal material defects.
